Barbara King Interiors specialise in providing a bespoke one-to-one interior design & consultancy service for discerning clients. I undertake all types of residential and commercial commissions to any size, both contemporary and classic, from country homes to city appartments.
Below is a small selection of the work I have undertaken. I use my own craftsmen who employ only the highest standards and quality in their workmanship. I would be delighted to discuss my extensive Portfolio with you further.

Commercial work at the Angel & Royal Hotel -
The £5 million refurbishment of the The Angel & Royal Hotel offered unique challenges, creating both contemporary and traditional styles, in harmony with the wonderful romantic character of this 13th century building.
My remit included complete project management, liasing with all trades, redevelopment of bedrooms and ensuites and redesign of bars, brasserie and Kings dining room.
For the traditionally styled suites I chose GP & J Baker and Wemyss Weavecraft fabrics whilst in other suites I created a more contemporary feel by using natural colours and plain fabrics.
-
Commercial work at Elm House +
The project required the remodelling of the ground floor of this beautiful old town house, into offices, creating 4 separate work spaces including a large MD's office featuring meeting area and PA's desk.
The custom carpet I designed in the MD's office enhanced the sense of attention to detail which I pride myself in. The carpet was made with absolute precision by Ege Carpets and I commisioned local carpenters Traigo, to build the required custom joinery to my designs.

Residential family kitchen & living area. +
My clients wanted a smart, easy to run kitchen with no frills. I used English Oak with granite for the centre island, giving the room a certain wow factor and acting as a hub for the room as a whole. The kitchen was built to my brief by local bespoke Kitchen company, Holmetrees.
The dining table is by Jan Cavelle and has a fabulous bronze finish with a glass panel centre.
I designed the wall units to house the flat screen TV and personal artifacts, built by Milne Joinery. For the curtains and blinds, I chose Brian Yates fabrics.
The colour scheme was to be neutral using taupe and off whites to build up this unique room.

Kitchen area in barn conversion +
Mixing traditional materials with contemporary design, the central island, in English Oak, is banked by high gloss units reflecting light back into the living space.
I specified the materials and designed the kitchen to bring the best out of what had been a busy walk through, creating a kitchen and dining space with views on to the garden through sliding glass doors.
